stamptraders*: Color Misrepresentation

Stamptraders has advertised numerous 19th-Century US stamps as their higher-valued color varieties.

In December 2002 the stamp shown in the left of this image was advertised as a steel blue #70b (catalog value: $725).  It is clear when compared to the PSE-certified #70b at right, that the stamp advertised by stamptraders as a #70b is a lilac variation, and has no blue color whatsoever.

The #78 (catalog value: $110) shown in the left of this image was advertised as a violet #70c (catalog value: $1,300) by stamptraders, also in December 2002.  For comparison, a PSE-certified #70c is shown at right.
